Free Weights
A variety of weights would be helpful to have at home for various rehab and performance needs. If you have the room and want a full gym sized rack of dumbbells, go for it! Otherwise, adjustable dumbbells are a great space saving way to have such variety in a small space.
Gait belt
If you have a family member who needs support while walking or has balance issues, it's always best to keep a hand on the in some way. The waistband of their pants is not usually the safest choice, but having a belt of some kind to grab on to gives you more opportunity to assist them if needed.
Resistance weights
Strengthening is a large part of what we do in physical therapy, and this requires some amount of resistance to do so. Whether it is bands, dumbbells, machine weights, or leveraging your body in a specific way to create the desired outcome, this is central to the approaches of rehabilitation and performance.
Foam roller
Keeping it simple, no fancy ridges or patterns, just pressure or a way to create leverage depending on how you want to use it.
